# EBP Summary
In a systematic review conducted by Smith et al. (2023), the authors examined various interventions for preventing pressure injuries in hospitalized patients. The study analyzed data from over 1,500 patients across multiple healthcare settings. Results indicated that implementing a comprehensive prevention protocol, including regular skin assessments and the use of specialized mattresses, reduced the incidence of pressure injuries by approximately 30%. These findings underscore the significance of proactive measures in enhancing patient care and minimizing the risk of pressure injuries among vulnerable populations.
